| 2011 Scholarships Awarded |
RABA gave out two $1500 scholarships to Richmond MMU graduates on honors night, June 14. Cody Vernet, son of Paul & Heather Parker of Richmond, and Marissa Giroux, daughter of Jim & Cori Giroux of Richmond; were selected from a strong and diverse group of applicants for the 2011 RABA Entrepreneur/ Trade Scholarships.
Cody, who grew up working at his Dad's weekly car auction and more recently at Pizza Putt, is attending the University of Vermont this fall. He will focus on business studies. Marissa plans to major in marine sciences at the University of Maine at Orono. She works at Estey Hardware and Lantmans in Hinesburg and volunteers at the Echo Center in Burlington. Both students were active in their communities and their school during the last four years. RABA has invited Marissa and Cody to come to our July 5th meeting at Bridge Street Café to receive their checks. Everyone is welcome to come and meet our winners. Funds for the scholarships come from RABA's Silent Auction at our Holiday Market every December. The scholarship committee would like to thank all those that supported the auction and the committee that makes it happen every year. |
