As I learn how to promote our business, Audiobooks Online I run across numerous resources, many FREE, that will help you promote your business, profession, organization or event online. Having a great product line, a fantastic web site and the ability to provide outstanding customer service are certainly important, but you need visitors to your site to make sales. Most Search Engines consider links to your web site very important in deciding where to put you in their search  results. The more relevant the web site that links to yours is, the more importance the link may have in getting you listed higher in Search Engine results. I.E. A web site about audio books that links to our web site, Audiobooks Online, will be a more important link to Search Engines than a link from a general web site that has little or nothing to do with audio books. The total number of links to our web site will also be considered by the Search Engines, so get yours listed on as many as possible. Here's some I found helpful:
- FREE listing at VtTRADERS (a Yahoo Group)
- FREE listing at ThinkVermont.com (Website of the Vermont Department of Economic Development). You will have to register first.
- FREE listing at LakeChamplain.com
- FREE listing at IndexVermont.com
- FREE listing in the Vermont Web Site Directory
- FREE listing at DMOZ Open Directory Project - This is an important directory to be listed at.
- FREE listing at Google.com - one of the most important Search Engines
