For almost 21 years Cindy at John's Shoe Shop North in Richmond has been striving to bring to the community the best in service and merchandise. Her goal has been to seek out American made (or Fair Trade) companies in both Shoes and Clothing. She specializes in functional and beautiful footwear that is orthopedically correct. At John's they believe that many common discomforts can be resolved just by matching the correct shoe to the foot.

Many of the customers are referred by Physical Therapists, Chiropractors, Orthopedic Doctors and of course their wonderfully
loyal customers. Cindy uses over-the-counter orthotics when needed, but she feels it's most important to match the shoe correctly to the proper foot. Their philosophy is that your physical and mental health is determined by the appropriate support and comfort of your shoes.

There have been many customers who thought they had to resign to "Orthopedic" footwear. At John's they have been able to provide reputable brands with tremendous orthopedic support. Customers are elated when they discover great looking footwear with maximum support.

Cindy's Grandfather started a shoe-making business in Burlington in 1917. Her parents carried on the tradition of shoe repair and retail in Hamilton, NY from 1953 to 2004. Cindy has continued in the family's footsteps by offering the best in footwear, service and personal attention. For many years Cindy's daughter Sofia contributed to the store as well as her son Christopher in the same manner that Cindy did in her parent's store. It seems to Cindy that once you're in a family business, it becomes a part of your soul. Whether you want to work with the same product line or not, there's a constant desire to help people and bring them the best of products and services. The whole family of people who work at John's, whether blood-related or not seem to have a special attachment to the store.  Cindy feels it's absolutely imperative to maintain a happy and pleasant work atmosphere as well as a great shop for her customers.

At John's Shoe Shop North , Cindy offers a tremendously diverse array of footwear . She has fit shoes for the Presidential Ball as well as boots that build the highways and shoes that pick flowers. The clientele of Johns's Shoe Shop North stretches from Richmond four corners all the way to Europe and Asia.
