 BIRDS OF VERMONT MUSEUM SCULPTOR BOB SPEAR WITH A WORK IN PROGRESS Below is a message from Erin Talmadge - Director at the Birds of Vermont MuseumGovernor’s Proclamation Signing declaring June 2007 as the official Vermont Birding Month – RSVP REQUIRED! Hello Everyone, As you may already know, the Birds of Vermont Museum is participating with the Stowe Area Association and other local organizations to kick off a month-long bird-related celebration! From May 27th to June 30th there will be demonstrations, films, walks, art exhibits, and bird-related activities in and around Stowe, VT. Bob’s Spruce Grouse will be on display in Stowe for the entire month. We are also participating in a Birding by Ear workshop on June 22nd and June 23rd, and we will be doing a carving demonstration on the Stowe Green on June 24th. Visitors and residents of Stowe will have the opportunity to travel from Stowe in a tour bus to visit the Museum, Audubon Vermont, and the Shelburne Museum. I am excited to also inform you that Governor Douglas has agreed to sign a proclamation to declare June 2007 as the official Vermont Birding Month! Special thanks to Valerie Rochon and the dedicated team at the Stowe Area Association for making this happen. The governor will be signing this declaration publicly and you are all invited to attend: When: Next Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at 1:00 PM Where: Montpelier, in the Vermont State House at 115 State St. – see map & directions: CLICK HERE. The signing will take place in the Ceremonial Office. To get to the Ceremonial Office after entering the building, take the LEFT spiral staircase up to the 2nd floor. The Ceremonial Office will be immediately to your right. RSVP REQUIRED! You are welcome to come to the proclamation but you must RSVP to me (with the number in your party including yourself) within 48 hours (by this Thursday afternoon 5/24) because the State House will need a count of all those attending.
