Richmond Elementary School welcomed Congressman Bernie Sanders, Governor Jim Douglas and Representative Denise Barnard to the Reading is Fundamental Awards Day recently. Richmond Elementary School was named State Champion of the RIF Community Reading Challenge for the third time in 4 years!
Due to the great support from the community, RES once again could celebrate their committment to reading. The title is accompanied by a certificate, a banner, medals of achievement for every child, and $500 in gift certificates for library books!.
Other honored guests included many of the community readers who donated their time to read to children during RIF week. RABA members in attendance included Erik Filkorn, Becky Burk, and members of Beacon Light Grange and RES PTO.
