Community Daffodil Planting Campaign will be held again this year during the month of October The goal for each year of this effort is to secure by donation and to plant with volunteers a thousand daffodil bulbs. As each spring arrives, the daffodil blooms have been making a beautiful appearance around Richmond and that beauty will only be multiplied with volunteer help.
Volunteers or groups interested in planting daffodils in public spots around Richmond should stop by the Town Center from October 3 to October 14 during the Town Clerks regular office hours to pick up bulbs and a planting location assignment. The Town Clerks hours are: Monday 8 AM - 6 PM, Tue - Thur 8AM - 4 and Friday 8 AM - 1 PM. A table will be set up in the hall to facilitate this process.
The time required to plant is small considering the pleasure derived each April when the bulbs are in bloom. Have a spot in your yard at home or at your place of business that could use some beautifying? Join the effort by planting some daffodils there this fall. Donations of bulbs would also be greatly appreciated.
If you would like to help, but cant make it to the Town Center, it will be still possible to get an assignment and plant at your convenience. For more information or to get an assignment and bulbs other than at the Town Center, please call Virginia Clarke at 434-4415.
