The Market will be held every Friday (except July 4th) starting June 6th through October 17th from 3:00 to 6:30 on Volunteers Green. “Make new friends but keep thy old, one is silver and the other gold.” The following is a list of returning and new seasonal vendors for the 2008 season. So come on down to renew old friendships and create some new ones. All products available at the Market are locally grown, baked or made. The Last Resort – certified organic vegetables, berries and sunflowers; Jing Ji’s Foods – Chinese egg rolls, dumplings and specialties; Pleasant Mt. Farms and Three Hungry Boys Bakery – breads, cookies, perennials and plants; Still-At-It Farm – vegetables, quick breads, maple candy and lawn chairs; Walker’s Vt Pure Maple Syrup – maple syrup; Tamaja Creations – pies, baked goods, jams and salsa; Sunflower Soaps – soaps, lotions and body care products; Ladybug Gardening – vegetables, herbs, cut flowers; mint tea and matted pressed flowers and photos; Maple Wind Farm – grass fed and organic meat , poultry and eggs, grilled hamburgers, sausages and side salads; Jenny Hermenze – shirts and scarves hand-dyed and decorated with Japanese stencil dyeing; Backdoor Bakery – croissants, turnovers, bagels, Danish, tarts, cakes cream puffs and desert bars; Samosaman Natural Foods – samosas and prepared foods; Nick and Hannah’s Fresh Squeezed Lemonade – lemonade, limeade and strawberry and raspberry versions; Boutin Family Farm – berries, vegetables, chocolate covered berries; Gizmo’s Pickled Plus – horseradish, pickles, jams, hummus, hot mama’s; Bee Happy Vermont – bees wax candles and ornaments and honey; Free Range Pottery – functional and decorative pottery; and Stonefox Jewelry – beaded jewelry and wood blocks and toys Are you craving fresh local lettuce, asparagus, spinach, rhubarb, radishes, herbs or beets? Has it been a while since you have had some fresh out-of-the-oven homemade bread, cookies or pie and graced your table with fresh cut flowers? Don’t forget, Father’s Day is right around the corner. This year the Market will have an even larger variety of fresh local produce, meats, prepared foods, flowers, plants, and entertainment for the whole family. On June 6th - The opening day of the Richmond Farmers’ Market will feature Ted Sargeant's Tractor Day. Hop aboard a kid-friendly vintage tractor. Ted will bring his collection of pedal and garden tractors. Thank you Ted! The Hubcats will perform on stage from 5:00 to 6:00. This duo is comprised of Stewart Foster and Fred Brauer. A mix of acoustic guitar, mandolin, bass, vocal harmony and a diverse song list that tends to stray from the mainstream (at least for the most part), gives this duo a unique appeal. Also, if you are in need of a new summer look, there will be a talented face painter on hand to add a little whimsy to your day. And don’t forget that it is only 9 days until Father’s Day! On June 13th - The Butterfields will perform on stage from 5:00 to 6:00 at the Richmond Farmers’ Market. The Butterfields are a popular duo that play a mixture of Caribbean, Calypso, Folk and Country who entertain audiences of all ages with their well known lighthearted music. Also, a talented face painter will be on hand to give you that new look. And don’t forget it is only 2 days until Father’s Day! On June 20th - The Richmond Farmers’ Market will host Vermontica the calf and Dairy Day. Vermontica loves all the attention she will get. So stop by to meet Vermontica the calf, thanks to the Department of Agriculture and for some free milk thanks to Beaudry’s Store in Huntington. Get ready for the first day of summer on Saturday - a talented face painter will be on hand to give you that new look. On June 27th - The Green Mountain Celts will perform on stage from 5:00 to 6:00 at the Richmond Farmers’ Market. Celebrate traditional Celtic music performed on the great highland bagpipes, Scottish small pipes and the bodhran. Joanne and Terry Ranney, Richmond residents, will entertain all Celtic music fans and Patrick Webb will accompany them with his Irish tenor voice. A talented face painter will be on hand to give you that new look.
