RABA Board Spotlights Volunteer Alyson Chase

The RABA board wants to spotlight some of our volunteers in our newsletter. In this issue we are highlighting Alyson Chase who coordinates the content for our newsletter and makes sure we don’t miss our deadlines.

alyson_chaseAlyson is owner and artist at Alyson Chase Studio. In 2004 Alyson, a long time artist, decided to take her passion for art and create a business. She began by taking her paintings and creating cards and prints from the originals. Although they are the mainstay of her business she has added canvas floorcloths to her product line and in 2009 created Ally C. Bags. Alyson’s bags and wallets are designed and created by her, using cloth made from her own art. She is constantly experimenting and growing as an artist. Her latest project is a bag made from a painted floorcloth. Alyson also offers classes in floorcloth creation in her Richmond studio.

This is not Alyson’s first business. In the mid-90’s she left banking and started Daily Money Management Business to help the elderly with their day-to-day financial needs. She still does this on a very part time basis. Alyson is a native Vermonter who lives in Richmond with her husband Bruce, and two sons.

Alyson’s love of art is clear in the bright colors and the cheerful motifs of her work. Recently she showed her work at the Boston Christmas Festival and local craft markets including the Richmond Holiday Market. This spring she will at the National Stationary show in New York City. This winter she founded the Women’s Artists Guild of Richmond and organized their first show in December. You can find her cards and prints at many stores around Vermont as well as on her website:www.alysonchasestudio.com.
