Bob Spear, the Founding Director of the Birds of Vermont Museum, will celebrate his 87th birthday on February 21st. All friends are invited to the Museum on Saturday, February 17th from 2-4 p.m. to help Bob celebrate with cake and ice cream. Also at that same time, the Great Back Yard Bird Count will take place at the Museum. Admission to the Museum on February 17th is FREE. As of January 1st, 2007, Dave Johnson has retired again, and the new Director is Erin Talmage. In his four-year term as director Dave made some big changes in the Museum; he greatly improved the infrastructure, the financial accountability, created and streamlined protocols and procedures, developed the Board, and helped develop a strategic plan. Dave spent his last month training Erin, who has worked at the Museum for four years as Museum Biologist. We wish Erin good luck in her new position, and thank Dave for all he has done in the last four years and wish him well in his retirement. The Birds of Vermont Museum is offering RABA members a 10% discount on annual Museum memberships. Birds of Vermont Museum being one of the featured articles in the February 2007 issue?
