Film Festival Gets Us Out of the Cold
Area Residents have a chance to take in some culture, enjoy a glass of wine or beer, and enjoy their neighbors at the Cabin Fever Film Festival this month. This event is as much to socialize as it is to enjoy a film in a warm, intimate setting that only a small town can offer.
Microcinemas are a new trend, popping up across the U.S. as an alternative to megaplexes. In kind, the Cabin Fever Film Festival will provide two nights of film and festivities at the Blue Seal Restaurant on Bridge Stgreet in Richmond. Parents needing childcare can call the Beary County School in advance at 434-3550.
Set up for Monday nights in February, the 13th and the 27th, it's a chance to liven up the long nights of winter without having to leave the comfort of downtown Richmond.
This evening of culture and community is a combined effort of local residents, businesses and town resources. The Blue Seal will kick off the first two nights of the festival by providing a cash bar, special menu and the venue. Childcare, so that parents can attend the event, is available (by booking in advance) at the Beary Country School, and projection equipments is lent by the Rihcmond Free Library and local residents.
