August 26th – On stage from 5:00 to 6:00 let’s welcome the Freedom and Unity Singers to the Richmond Farmers’ Market. Isaiah Mead and Derek Clatterbuck of the Freedom and Unity Singers come from opposite sides of the country, Oregon and Virginia respectively, but share a love for traditional American folk music. They met while in college in North Carolina and have since moved to Richmond where they are starting an organic vegetable farm with several friends. The Freedom and Unity Singers combine the rhythms of Old-time mountain music and the twang of country to make a foot-tapping, sweet and gritty sound.
