July 1st - The Willoughbys will be on stage from 5:00 to 6:00 at the Richmond Farmers' Market. In their own words: "THE WILLOUGHBYS have a unique spot in the Vermont music scene. No drum set, but congas to drive; no loud electric guitar, but tasty cowboy licks when needed; not one, but four singers able to lead a tune." This talented group is a four-piece band playing music of the American landscape. With original songs and covers from the Americana songbook, they weave their vocal harmonies together with guitars, accordion, mandolin, violin, congas, and bass. Inspiration is drawn from artists such as Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Gillian Welch and the Jayhawks. So come on down and meet Bill Myregaard, Tim Coleman, Debbie Schlosser and Flip Brown.
July 8th - On stage from 5:00 to 6:00 the Richmond Farmers' Market will welcome back the ever-popular Rebecca Padula. This is her ninth performance at the Market. Rebecca will share her singer-songwriter talents and introduce the audience to tunes from her third independent album, "Fire and Water," as well as, some new fresh accolades. Vermont's Times Argus called her a "rich alto powerhouse" and the Addison Eagle called her latest CD "a rare find" in world of cookie-cutter arts and letters. She was a finalist at the Solarfest songwriter's contest in 2008 and winner of the 2007 Vermont Peace Songs contest. Though her most recent CD is rocked-up folk with a backing band, Market goers can hear her solo with guitar backing her signature vocals as she mixes up folk, blues, jazz and old time influences.
