The Richmond Selectboard is seeking volunteers to serve on the below committees, beginning in April.

Planning Commission – 2 meetings per month – 1 term open Activities include developing long-term town goals through the adoption of the Richmond Town Plan, working on projects that implement the Town Plan and providing educational workshops to the community. The Commission is also responsible for proposing amendments to the zoning regulations and subdivision regulations for consideration by the Selectboard.

Development Review Board - 1 meeting per month – 4 terms open Activities include review of proposed subdivisions, considering community impacts from commercial and industrial projects and hearing appeals from acts of the administrative officer.

Conservation Commission - 1 meeting per month – 3 terms open Activities include organizing workshops on land conservation and natural resource protection. Providing advice and direction to the Selectboard on utilization of the Richmond Conservation Reserve Fund.

Economic Development Committee - 1 meeting per month – 2 terms open Activities include monitoring community development activities and offering landowners assistance in the pursuit of permits and grant resources.

Recreation Committee - 1 meeting per month – 4 terms open Activities include developing recreational programs for the community and maintaining the infrastructure at Volunteers Green and Browns Court. Recreation Path Committee – 1 meeting per month – 4 terms open Activities include planning for the extension or creation of recreation paths and maintaining existing paths.

Parade and Fireworks Committee – Meet as needed to complete preparations for the annual July 4th Parade and Fireworks event. Need volunteers on July 3rd, 4th and 5th for staffing of food booths, organizers for games, tent and chair setup and take down, clean up of grounds during and after event. Planning meetings at other times of the year do occur. Volunteers can decide to help out during the event, or planning for the event, or both.
