| Web Portal Update - USDA Grant |
 Early this year, RABA applied to the 2011 U.S Department of Agriculture Rural Business Enterprise grant program. RABA received a partial grant award due to limited federal funding. The proposed feasibility study for a community kitchen and the regional branding tasks were removed, although branding moved forward without federal assistance.
A grant of $17,206 was approved for the the creation of a regional web portal. In order to network, coordinate and expand local businesses, a community web-based portal owned and maintained by RABA, will be built to share information, allow visitors to search for specific products and produce, and build relationships and foster future job growth in the Richmond area through the sharing of business successes and failures, local maps for tourists to find places such as pick your own sites and other green community resources. Portal development by a team of local IT professionals is hoped to be completed well within the 12 month period proposed in the grant.
